How to Add Text to an Image
Adding text to an image is a handy way to keep notes on what the image is of, when it was taken, adding your copyright to the image and any other relevant details that you may require.
Step 1
Open up your image in Irfanview and drag to select the area you wish to place the text: *

Step 2
Go to 'Edit' on the menu bar and chose 'Insert text into selection' from the drop down menu:

This opens up the dialogue box shown below:
Enter the text you would like to have appear on your image. Pressing 'Append Copyright' inserts the © sign where your cursor is placed. 'Append Date' and 'Append Time' are self explanatory, entering the current time and date in to the text area.
The font size and text alignment can also be modified as desired.
If you wish to add a few lines of text as we have done in this example, you have to ensure that your selected area is large enough to accomodate all the lines.
Step 4
Press ok and we can now see the completed result - remember to save your image when you have the desired effect.
