Adding a border or frame to an image
Adding a border to an image is a frequently used task. Irfanview makes it a simple and quick procedure with just a couple of clicks, multiple images can also be batch converted with borders, please see my tutorial on batch conversion for more information.
Step 1
With your image open in Irfanview go to 'Image' on the menu bar and chose the option 'Canvas size'.
Step 2
Here I have kept the default settings of a 10 pixel border all round the image and chosen orange as the border colour by clicking on the 'Choose' button.
Step 3
Click on 'Ok' and save the new image.
Tip
A double border can be added to the image by following the above procedure again and choosing a different colour.
