Cropping an image with Irfanview
Irfanview makes cropping images simple and speedy!
Step 1
Open your image in Irfanview
Step 2
When you click on the image a cross cursor appears, holding the left mouse button down drag over the area that you want to keep. When you let go of the left mouse button the box shown below stays around the selected area of the image, this box can be easily resized by hovering the mouse over the edges of the box until an arrow shape appears, clicking and dragging will then increase or decrease the width or height of the cropped area.
Step 3
Go to 'Edit' and chose crop selection.
Note that on the top bar of the Irfanview window the size of the selection area and the orientation of it is displayed.
Step 4
The completed cropped image....
Please note that the black space to the right of the image is empty and is not part of the resized photo.
