Colour and Image Effects with Irfanview
Step 1
For such a small compact program Irfanview packs in a wide range of image effects which can be accessed from 'Image' on the menu bar. Some of the more common effect such as Convert to Grayscale are in the main content of the 'Image' menu, the rest are available from the 'Effects' section.
Step 2
Choosing the 'Effects browser' allows you to easily go through the available effects modifying the settings on each one until you find something that meets your requirements, once you are satisfied with the preview the effect can then be applied to the image.
If you apply an effect to an image and decide that you don't like it or would like to try a different effect you can easily undo by going to the menu bar 'Edit' then 'Undo' or use the keyboard shortcut ctrl+z.
